Up Theme Song Piano Sheet Music Easy
The Up Theme Song is a really beautiful song.
Did you know it's actually called "Married Life"?
I didn't.
But I guess there's lots of things I didn't know at one point.
Like how many times I can wake up in a night…
My baby son teaches me things like that from time to time.
He's a great teacher.
Strict, but his lessons always seem to stick.
Anyway, everyone just calls "Married Life" the "Up Theme Song". So that's what I'll call it in this post.
And speaking of this post:
I better tell you what to expect down below…
Basically we'll compare two different versions of the Up Theme Song piano sheet music –
An easy version.
And a hard version.
So we'll look at (and listen to) what each version does for the intro, the main theme and there's also a chromatic run in the music, which I thought would be fun to compare too.
You'll find links to both versions at the end of the post.
But for now:
Read on… and listen on… and I hope this post helps you pick one to learn.
Okay, let's get started…
Up Theme Song Piano Sheet Music – Intro
We'll start by looking at the easy version.
As you can see below, the easy sheet music isn't too difficult. Be sure to hit the play button to hear what it sounds like too.
It's basically just 4 bars with either single notes or two note chords. But it does a good job of setting up the main them (which we just start to hear in the 4th bar).

Okay now let's take a look at the hard version. Here the rhythm is a bit more challenging and there are some fuller chords to play.
And I think it makes for a much more satisfying intro to the main theme.
Up Theme Song Piano Sheet Music – Intro – Hard Version
Now let's take a look at the main theme. Or at least the first 8 bars of the main theme.
Up Theme Song Piano Sheet Music – Main Theme
The easy version is shown just below.
As you can see, it's either single notes or two note chords again.
Up Theme Song Piano Sheet Music – Main Theme – Easy Version
I have to say:
I think the arrange of this easy version has done a great job. The music sounds really great within the framework of easy sheet music.
Now let's look at the hard version:
Up Theme Song Piano Sheet Music – Main Theme – Hard Version
Sounds lovely right?
It's such a nice melody.
So the hard version provides a fuller sound with bigger chords.
And actually, that's the main difference between the two versions.
I mean, the rhythms are quite similar. Melody is the same. Harmony is similar…
Just those bigger chords.
Anyway, let's move on to the chromatic run. I really enjoy this part of the music so thought it would be fun to compare both versions of it.
Up Theme Song Piano Sheet Music – Chromatic Run
Again we'll start by looking at the easy version.
But before that, I mentioned my son in the introduction.
And how, sometimes he wakes me up a lot at night.
Well guess what…
He's actually asleep right now.
Right now, as I'm typing this up, working away.
He gets to sleep!
I tell ya.
Some people have all the fun.
Anyway, here's how the easy sheet music handles the chromatic run:

And now the hard version…
What you'll notice here is that there's more movement in the left hand. And both hands are in a higher register on the piano. So take note of the bass clef shift into treble clef territory too.

And that's about all for this post.
I hope you enjoyed it.
And I hope you got some value from the audio snippets too.
